So, for example, if someone in married or seeing an abuser and he rapes her, it's a lesser crime? Someone goes on a date and flirts, gets drunk and the next thing that happens is she has a bloke on top of her? She is drunk and not capable of making informed decisions, such is the way of alcohol. A decent bloke will look after her, not rape her.Rape is a very serious crime, I personally don't think it's right for date rape or relationship rape. If you want more prosecutions you need a different crime.
It's not right that a person who failed to get consent from his drunken date is treated the same as a person hiding in the bushes to pounce.
Rape is rape. There is no incident where it's ok nor a lesser crime which is why it isn't treated as such in the eyes of the law. (apparently). Stranger rape isn't common. Being raped by someone you know & trust is far more common. It's still rape.
