I would usually have about four pints of it with a curry, back in the day.

But that was my sweet spot for feeling nicely merry without getting silly.
I’m not much of a beer drinker. The first one always goes down a treat but I struggle from then on. I’m a wine drinker normally but I just can’t drink wine with an Indian meal.
White wine goes really well, especially NZ Sauvignon Blanc. But not red wine, because the tannins intensify the burn from the spices.

I’m a big fan of Sharp’s Atlantic pale ale.
Not commonly seen though. Without making a specific journey out, I can only think of one place round here that has it.
And that is a golf range bar.

I once told my kids that we occasionally have the odd G&T before a meal. Since then, every birthday, every Father’s Day, every holiday they go on, I get a bottle of gin. I’m drowning in the stuff - it’s all round the place! I’ll have to mention I’m into single malts and start building a collection of them.

Aaaand another Father’s Day bottle for my collection from my son. I want to tell them 'No more' but Mrs Mottie says I’m being ungrateful. Not seeing my daughter till next week as she's in Greece. Pleeeease let it be Ouzo or anything other than Gin!
