perhaps a general " garden home kids and pets" as in the interaction more generally connected to these areas so not questions relating to the home and garden in general but where they are related to pets and kids use so "family friendly

Sounds like a good idea to me, BA. I'd reckon at least 50% to 70% on here , either have pets, or have strong feelings on the subject of pet ownership..
Personalty, I wouldn't be without my dog. (but only because he's the bestest dog in the world.
