You can close your eyes, durhamplumber, and pretend it didn't happen, but it did and it doesn't appear much in the history taught in schools.

Don't forget, British were taking their 'taxes' from working Indians to pay for the infrastructure in India. Except when it came to famine, there was no such infrastructure as it had existed prior to British Rule.

i was refering to bobby's post about the famines and deaths caused by colonialism, you then piped up with your 80 year old KKK statue, to which my response was asking whether the statue was in the uk or us as i dont know about this statue in the UK.

Then add the 10,000,000 deaths of Indians by the British military and we getting on towards 100,000,000 dead Indians caused by or exacerbated by British colonial rule in India.......... But we left them some trains. "Way to go dude".

You're having a laugh. I suspect the Japanese, during WW2, could learn a thing or two from the British colonial rulers.
The British colonial rule in India alone probably vastly outweighs anything attributable to Japanese and German and Khmer Rouge deaths combined during and since WW2.
Some people think UK did more good than harm. But they're not one of the relatives of one of those who died, or continue to live in poverty because of British colonial rule. It was brutal. it was cruel and it was barbaric. And as long as folks back home don't know about it, everything is OK.
