It was a draft beer from the other end of the bar. If someone serving you beer assures you it is low/no alcohol you assume they would know what they are serving you.

Ah doh my bad sorry i just pictured 1664 in bottles. Most places ive ever been it's served in bottles, wasn't cool back where i was to be drinking lager from a half pint glass... no wait you were drinking pints of it?! Omg few pints or 3 of 1664 id be wee'ing up someones leg at the bar after that lot let alone driving home.

It was a quip. As a chemistry student in the 80's a did have a swig of analar reagent pure 100% ethanol. You only do that once. Feels like your face is imploding. Quite unpleasant.
