all the worshipping that does go on doesn't achieve anything.
It's the reason you see peoples lips moving when they are alone. Like when they are quietly pleading with God to save their child on an operating table. Or when their football team is on the brink of relegation or cup glory. Or when waiting for news of those scant survivors from a devastating plane or train crash.

To dismiss faith in its entirety is to dismiss human nature.

I think rational and objective contemplation about the universe leads one to believe that there is a creator.

Aside from that, our bodies are just a bunch of atoms. The atoms are part of the universe and never get destroyed. So where does our consciousness and soul come from? They are not part of the physical being that is our body.. when we die the atoms in our body just release back into the universe to become other gases//liquids/solids

Where does the soul go after death? Where does consciousness go? Are souls even real?

There was a phrase used in WW2 "There are no atheists in a pillbox"

And there is the crux. We can all mock faith and hope until we become seriously desperate for people we love.
Love - what is that all about? God - what is that all about?

Atheists and agnostics turn to God when their children are in intensive care. If we did a poll in the ICU, you'd probably get 100% believers.

Atoms are theorized to have a lifetime, but it is a very long time. I think I read somewhere that the human body replaces all it atoms in about 10 years or so.

Theoretically, if you were able to duplicate all the atoms that form your body and arrange them in the exact form that they exist in your body.. you would have a precise duplicate of yourself. But your duplicate would be effectively dead.. so what's missing in the duplicate?

The bereaved often "see", "hear" and sense their loved ones, doesn't make it real. A human brain will protect itself in illogical ways.

It's an interesting question. You or merely a facsimile of you.

Faith is a personal thing and I wouldn't tell anybody what they should or shouldn't believe in. I think that's a different thing to mass worship of a God.
